For high-volume stamped-part welding and riveting, the delivery bottleneck is rarely the speed of a single machine. It is the inter-process flow, the repeatability of fixturing and locating, and the pile-up at final inspection. Our approach: integrate welding and riveting into the stamping die (in-die joining) so the joining cycle matches the stamping cycle; replace manual sampling with full inspection machines to eliminate the final-inspection bottleneck; and ensure continuous production through equipment redundancy and die backup.

The conventional flow is: stamp, unload, stack, transfer to a separate welding/riveting station, then re-locate and re-clamp. Every load-unload and re-location adds cycle loss and cumulative positioning error.

In-die joining integrates the welding electrode or riveting mechanism directly into the stamping die. The part is formed, then joined without leaving its located state, and exits as a finished assembly in one stroke. The delivery benefits are direct: joining time is absorbed into the stamping cycle; secondary locating is eliminated; work-in-process and lead time drop.

The most common delivery risk in high-volume orders is a backlog at final inspection. Manual sampling is slow, and once a batch issue is found, a large quantity of parts faces rework or scrap.

We deploy full inspection machines that check every joined part inline. Checks can include: joint presence (missing weld/rivet), position deviation, visual defects, and where required, force or displacement monitoring for joint quality. The inspection cycle matches the line, creates no pile-up, and intercepts quality issues at the station rather than at final inspection.
