Application of Silver Alloy Rivets in Relays

In the relay field, silver alloy rivets are key components to ensure performance. With their excellent conductivity, arc resistance and mechanical strength, they are suitable for different types of relays. In addition, three forms of rivets, namely solid rivets, bimetal rivets and trimetal rivets, are accurately selected according to the scenario to ensure the stable operation of the equipment.

Silver Alloy Rivets

Small signal relays, commonly used in communication equipment and instrumentation, transmit weak signals and demand stringent requirements for contact resistance and dimensional accuracy. Solid silver alloy rivetsare the ideal choice. Made from pure silver or fine-grained silver, they offer contact resistance ≤3mΩ for precise signal transmission. With diameters as small as 0.3mm, they accommodate miniaturized designs, ensuring high-frequency signal transmission without attenuation. This meets the stringent demands for sensitivity and stability in automated control systems.

Power relays are widely used in industrial control and household appliances, handling currents from 5 to 50A. They require arc resistance and weld resistance. For medium-power applications, bimetal rivetsare an option. The silver alloy layer (e.g., AgSnO₂) on the head ensures conductivity and arc resistance, while the copper body reduces costs by saving over 50% in silver material, balancing performance and economy. For high-power applications (≥20A) or frequent switching cycles, solid AgSnO₂ rivets offer superior arc erosion resistance and enhanced weld resistance. They meet heavy-duty demands like motor control while extending relay lifespan.

High-voltage relays are used in power systems and new energy fields, operating at voltages ≥1kV, requiring high voltage resistance and insulation properties. For medium-voltage (1-10kV) and infrequent switching applications, dual-composite AgSnO₂-Cu rivets suffice; for high-voltage (≥10kV) and high-frequency switching core equipment, solid AgSnO₂ rivets deliver outstanding voltage resistance and arc-quenching performance. For special structures requiring conductivity at both ends, trimetal rivets are suitable, balancing high-voltage performance with cost control.

Silver alloy rivets, available in diverse forms, precisely match different relay requirements. Whether for critical scenarios demanding ultimate performance or routine applications seeking cost balance, they provide reliable solutions, helping the relay industry enhance quality and efficiency.
